After being back up in Utah for a while, I realized that there are plenty of awesome places to longboard. I unfortunately left my longboard (Flexdex) back in Texas, so I felt out of luck. A few weeks ago a friend of mine (who owns 2 longboards) and I went up into Provo canyon and rode down it. Being from a flatland region I had never had the opportunity to do much downhill boarding.After going once I was determined to buy a new board. So I started browsing around on the internet. I have pretty much settled on a Sector 9 cruiser, but people in the silverfishlongboarding forum kept recommending Kracked Skulls. I wasn't very thrilled at the idea at first glance, but after finding out that the guy that makes them lives less than 10 miles from my house, I decided to go test one out.
And that was it. After riding the Kracked Skulls M1 once, I knew it was my new board. There were several things that instantly sold me on the board.
First of all, I liked the overall design of the deck. The large cut outs eliminate any possibility of grinding the wheels on a sharp turn. There is also considerably more room on the deck to play around. It's got a large wheelbase creating a good flex and feel of stability.
